Sabinsa Develops L-(+)-Selenomethionine HPLC Procedure

PISCATAWAY, N.J.--Sabinsa Corp. developed andvalidated an HPLC assay procedure for L-(+)-Selenomethionine, which was reviewedand approved by the U.S. Pharmacopeia (USP). A reference standard for companieswishing to use the test can be obtained from Sigma-Aldrich (www.sigmaaldrich.com).

The company claimed that HPLC analysis ofmany other commercially available L-(+)-Selenomethionine samples have shown themto be only a physical mixture of an inorganic or organic selenium salt withmethionine.
