WASHINGTONThe Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) is partnering with the National Osteoporosis Foundation (NOF) to host a free webinar for pharmacists and nurse practitioners. The webinar will focus on the updated recommendations and research of calcium and vitamin D, and will be available to members of the social media communities Pharmacist Society and Generation NP.

The webinar is Monday, Dec. 10, from 2 to 3 p.m., EST, and will be presented by Taylor Wallace, Ph.D, senior director, scientific and regulatory affairs, CRN, and Andrea Singer, M.D., associate professor, Medicine and Obstetrics & Gynecology at Georgetown University Medical Center and clinical director of the National Osteoporosis Foundation.

Drs. Wallace and Singer will examine recent research on the two nutrients, including the controversial research on safety. Following the presentation, participants will have the opportunity to ask questions via a live online Q&A chat. Pharmacist Society and Generation NP are closed-loop environments for members only, so the webinar will not be open to the public.  For those who are unable to participate in the live event, it will be available to download on Pharmacist Society and Generation NP.

CRN has partnered with Generation NP and Pharmacist Society in the past in an effort to use social media engagement initiatives to reach a variety of audiences with science-based information about dietary supplements.
