Pacific Rainbow Partner Gets COS for Chondroitin Sulfate

CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif.Yantai Dongcheng Biochemicals Co. Ltd., Yantai, China, which is party owned by Pacific Rainbow International Inc., received a Certificate of Suitability (COS) from the European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines & Healthcare (EDQM) for chondroitin sulfate sodium.  Pacific Rainbow has a 21.67-percent ownership of the Doncheng facility, and handles all the marketing and customer service for its chondroitin sulphate in the United States.

The COS demonstrates the quality of our chondroitin sulfate is guaranteed and that it complies with the European Pharmacopeia and requirements of EU directives for medicines, said Herman Zhang, founder and president, Pacific Rainbow.

The COS covers both the chemistry and TSE of the chondroitin sulfate. The Dongcheng facility is the first in China to receive this double certification. Dongcheng is GMP- and ISO 9001-certified. It is also the first facility in China that is USP verified.
