November 9, 2020

This lively session reviews the research and authoritative publications of the ABC-AHP-NCNPR Botanical Adulterants Prevention Program (BAPP), which is now starting its 10th year of service to the global botanical community. BAPP has published 61 peer-reviewed documents, all available free access on its website. The session will emphasize how adulterators/fraudsters attempt to fool current industry laboratory analytical methods. Further, this session will discuss BAPP’s new Supplier Contract Language and SOP for Disposal or Destruction of “Irreparably Defective Articles” – the so-called “Burn It; Don’t Return It!” SOP -- that empowers botanical and dietary supplement industry members to remove fraudulent ingredients from the marketplace, thereby preventing their reintroduction into the global supply chain and eventually into consumer products.
