Afrinatural Extends Ops in U.S.

ATLANTA—Afrinatural Corp. is a new U.S. operation offering natural ingredients from Africa, working as a division of Afrinatural Holdings South Africa. The company offers a range of natural ingredients from Africa, including Hoodia gordonii, rooibos, Aloe vera, Sceletium and more. Michael Sophinos will serve as president, North America, for Afrinatural Corp.

The company also announced it holds intellectual property related to a proprietary extraction process that can be used with a variety of nutritional ingredients. Afrinatural noted the process can increase the percentage of active ingredient in a given extract, deliver finer end particle size, enhance water dispersibility and solubility, and avoid grittiness in formulation. Samples of Hoodia gordonii prepared using the proprietary process are available as samples to interested clients.
