CLEARFIELD, UtahAlbion Laboratories Inc., a company specializing in mineral amino acid chelate nutrition, announced its co-sponsorship of "Zinc Nutrition: From Discovery to Global Health Impact," a symposium at the American Society for Nutrition's Scientific Sessions and Annual Meeting. Chaired by Harold H. Sandstead, M.D., the session is a part of the Education Track of the ASN's EB 2012. The American Society for Nutrition's Scientific Sessions and Annual Meeting in conjunction with Experimental Biology 2012 is scheduled for April 21 to 25 in San Diego.

"Zinc Nutrition" will be held in the San Diego Convention Center's Ballroom, April 22, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The seminar will review the history of discoveries in chemistry, in other species, in dietetics and in clinical nutrition that have an effect on the current understanding of zinc's various roles in health; future challenges in will also be addressed.

Along with symposia, the multi-society, interdisciplinary meeting also includes award lectures, oral and poster sessions, career services, and exhibits of scientific equipment, supplies and publications.
