BASF Expands Food Technology & Applications Center

FLORHAM PARK, N.J.BASF announced the grand opening of its expanded Food Technology & Applications Center in Tarrytown, N.Y., which focuses on finding new delivery forms for dietary supplements and innovating the next generation of snack foods, baked goods, beverages and dairy products. The state-of-the-art facility is part of BASFs 160,000-square-foot research and development center that also is home to research laboratories for personal care and pharmaceutical applications.

BASFs food scientists and technical specialists will offer workshops and on-site product demonstrations so customers can see and taste the advantages first-hand of using performance ingredients such as Lamequick® whipping agents and Spongolit® aerating emulsifiers. On the health side, customers can collaborate with BASF experts to add Newtrition" without adversely affecting the sensory properties of the products.

BASFs Think Newtrition marketing initiative describes how its unique ingredient and formulation expertise can help customers create new products and improve existing ones for a variety of market segments such as food, beverages and dietary supplements.
