Cardellina Joins McCormick as Distinguished Scientist

SPARKS, Md.McCormick & Company, Inc., announced the recent hiring of Dr. John Cardellina to the position of Distinguished Scientist. Cardellinas expertise in the isolation and identification of natural ingredients supports McCormicks leadership in flavor, health and quality, and he will be an integral member of McCormicks R&D team at its Technical Innovation Center (TIC).

Dr. Cardellina, with his impressive scientific credentials, will join a growing group of highly-skilled food chemists dedicated to discovering new innovations in food and flavor," said Dr. Hamed Faridi, Chief Science Officer at McCormick. Cardellina brings nearly four decades of technical, academic and management experience to the highly specialized position with McCormick. His career includes positions at the National Cancer Institute, Council for Responsible Nutrition, McNeil Pharmaceuticals and the U.S. Navy. Most recently, he worked at the National Institutes for Healths Office of Dietary Supplements. He has more than 196 publications and 13 patents and has chaired and lectured at numerous prestigious meetings and conferences.
