HONG KONG—Meats, vegetables and processed foods will soon be tested in Hong Kong for the melamine derivative cyromazine, Reuters reported. The chemical is used in China in pesticides and animal feed. Officials said it is absorbed in plants and may already be in the food chain, according to the news source. Experts are testing to find out just how much cyromazine is in these products and whether or not they will be harmful if consumed.
