ROCHESTER, N.Y. Americans are pretty picky about their ice cream, and a new Harris Interactive® poll reveals that 27 percent say chocolate is their favorite flavor. Vanilla and cookie dough/cookies and cream tied for second place at 22 percent, while 20 percent of those surveyed were nutty for butter pecan/Swiss almond and 17 percent favored mint chocolate chip.

Harris Interactive surveyed 2,177 U.S. adults online between June 8-15, 2009. The poll also included questions regarding generational preferences, how individuals preferred to eat ice cream and topping choices.
