WASHINGTONThe Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) added two new voting members and four associate members to its roster. The new voting members are Avon Products Inc., New York, and Country Life Vitamins, Hauppauge, N.Y.; associate members are Burdock Group, Orlando, Fla.; EAS Consulting Group LLC, Alexandria, Va; Grifcon Enterprises Inc., Lincoln, Calif.; and Miami Research Associates, Miami.

The addition of the new associate members coincides with CRN’s implementation of a new associate member benefits package, designed to attract more industry-affiliated companies to its rolls and offer CRN voting members easier access to service providers. “We’ve had on-going discussions with our associate members and potential associate members, and what we’ve learned is they’re interested in two things when it comes to belonging to a trade association, said Steve Mister, president/CEO, CRN. “First, they want an opportunity to network with and be recognized by the major players who manufacture supplement ingredients and finished products. Second, these companies understand that a more robust supplement industry will help their own businesses grow.” Details on the benefits package are available directly from the association.

In additional news, CRN announced two promotions. Judy Blatman, who joined CRN in 2001, was promoted to senior vice president, communications, and John Hathcock, Ph.D., with a 12-year history with the association, was promoted to senior vice president, scientific and international affairs.
