COPENHAGEN, DenmarkDanisco announced global price increases of 5-15 percent for affected Grindsted® hydrocolloids effective November 1, 2011, or when contracts allow.

The company says despite productivity and cost reduction programs, it has not been able to mitigate the rising raw material, energy and logistic costs affecting its hydrocolloid product lines.

Products under the Grindsted trademark include alginate, carrageenan, cellulose gum (CMC), guar gum, locust bean gum, microcrystalline cellulose (MCC), pectin and xanthan gum.
