Demeritt Named CEO of Hartman Group

BELLEVUE, Wash.The Hartman Group has named Laurie Demeritt as its CEO, elevating her from president and chief operating officer. Effective Jan. 2, 2013, she replaces company founder Harvey Hartman, who stepped down from his CEO post but will remain as chairman.

Originally hired to lead the marketing department, Demeritt has worked at the Hartman Group for more than 15 years, working her way up through the management ranks.

"Laurie brings such passion, dedication and experience to the role that the transition will be seamless," said Hartman. "She has built a strong team around her, and she has a clear vision for the future direction of the company while appreciating the rich heritage upon which The Hartman Group was built. She knows, as well as anyone, what The Hartman Group has always stood for." He further noted the promotion is exciting for him because it recognizes Demeritt's achievements at Hartman over the years and because it "feels great to know that the company is in very capable hands for the future...for our clients and our team members."
