Florida Law Prohibits Diet Pills for Teens
TALLAHASSEE, Fla.--A Florida state law prohibiting the distributionof "weight-loss pills" to those under age 18 went into effect July 1.The law prohibits the sale, delivery, barter or giving of such products, andincludes fines ranging from $100 for the first violation up to $1,000 for afourth violation. The law applies to products sold without a prescription, themarketing, advertising or packaging of which indicates that its primary purposeis for facilitating or causing weight loss.
