Frontier Hires Marketing Manager

BOULDER, Colo.--Frontier Natural Products Co-op appointed Sue McCarthy asthe company's natural remedies category marketing manager. McCarthy brings both mainstreamand natural products market experience to the natural remedies category, which includesthe company's organic herbal supplement and extract lines, the Rosemary Gladstar line andHomeopathic product lines for adults, children and pets. When asked what her plans for theFrontier brand were, McCarthy stated, "To maintain the number one position in organicnatural remedies, through increased focus on our current lines and the introduction offun, innovative new products."

Petaluma Poultry Appoints Director of Sales and Marketing

PETALUMA, Calif.--Petaluma Poultry Processors hired Fred Storck as thecompany's director of sales and marketing. Storck brings more than 20 years of marketingexperience to his newly appointed position. Prior to joining Petaluma Poultry, Storckserved as director of marketing at the Golden Grain Company and as a zone manager for TheQuaker Oats Company.

Knudsen Resigns from Position

CHICO, Calif.--Bill Knudsen, founder of R.W. Knudsen Family juice brand,resigned from his current position as chairman of Smucker Quality Beverages and willtransition into a new role as beverage consultant for the company. In his new position,Knudsen's primary responsibilities will include beverage category identification,establishing opportunities overseas and focusing on major natural food industry issuessuch as the growth and role of organic products.

SPINS Announces CIO

SAN FRANCISCO--SPINS, a provider of marketing information to the naturalproducts industry, hired Mark Madsen to the position of chief information officer. USP Appoints Director

ROCKVILLE, MD--The United States Pharmacopoeia (USP) announced that BillStringer will be joining USP as director, excipients and pharmaceutical waters. Stringeris an accomplished executive with proven experience in developing and managing quality,validation and regulatory affairs in the pharmaceutical environment. At USP, Stringer'sresponsibilities will be to provide scientific and professional leadership to theexcipients and pharmaceutical waters programs and to work cooperatively with the committeeof revision. In addition, he will ensure the development of high quality andscientifically sound standards to be included in the USP-NF.

Stryka Botanics Adds to Staff

Diemer Joins Bioelements
