Gnosis Expands Headquarters

DESIO, ItalyGnosis expanded and updated its headquarters in Italy to house multiple research departments for identification and development of new active ingredients.
The facility now has five different areas of research: strain selection, fermentation, downstream processing, synthesis and analytical development. Each area plays an integral role in technology, and product research and development.
The company also constructed an additional 500 sq. meters for its new analytical development department, and 300 sq. meters of space for meetings, conferences and corporate events.
The expansion was initiated to support Gnosis expanding activities in early- and late-stage clinical candidate program. Additions include several new research hoods, analytical instruments, additional support equipment, additional staff and a major increase in the facility's existing kilo lab capacity.
Before construction on the new headquarters began, the company announced its Quatrefolic®, a folate derivative, won the "Most Effective Strategic Product Development" award at the Nutraceutical Business & Technology Awards in May 2011.
