High Vitamin Content, Upscale Claims Drive Drink Launches

LONDON—Global drink launches with claims of high vitamin content and upscale comprised 12 percent of new launches from June 2008 to August 2008, said Product Launch Analytics. Products labeled as natural and no preservatives were launched more frequently, and those tagged as being organic increased from 5.8 percent to 6.7 percent compared to the same of the previous year. Growth also was seen in high-antioxidant launches, which jumped from 2.2 percent to 4.1 percent.
