Mintel Updates Global New Products Database
CHICAGO--Mintel's Global New Products Database now includesinformation on several June 2003 product launches from around the world.Included in the new information is the German introduction of Hippness Crisp, arange of adult cereals that are fortified with vitamins and minerals, andcontain various functional ingredients, such as lecithin or probiotics. Mintelalso announced herbal and botanical ingredients are still popular. In Italy, alow-fat, citrus-flavored fermented milk drink with added ginseng and fiber wasintroduced, while Malaysia saw the introduction of herbal yogurts with addedfennel and echinacea. In the emerging Hispanic and Latino market, SoBe (Pepsico)launched Fuerte, a mango and passionfruit drink with Spanish labeling thatcontains yerba mate and guarana. Targeting the same demographic, Mott's(Cadbury-Schweppes) launched Clamato Energia, a non-carbonated, vegetable-baseddrink containing 30-percent juice with ginseng, taurine, guarana and B vitamins.
