AVIGNON, FranceNaturex, a company that specializes in manufacturing natural specialty ingredients, announced new formulations and sustainable sourcing to regulate products in regards of the latest palm oil concerns.

With a multi-faceted approach, Naturex plans to rebalance color formulations with other sources and invest in sustainable palm derivatives. The company has also created a large range of natural, palm-free colors for manufactures demanding ingredients that are entirely palm-free.

"Naturexs research and development (R&D) team has successfully replaced the palm-derived ingredients with non-palm source materials wherever possible," said Amandine De Santi, business manager of Naturex. Regarding ingredients for which non-palm based alternatives are not yet commercially available, we have launched a global initiative that relies on our sourcing, quality, and R&D capabilities."

In addition, Naturex will be participating in the Green Palm program. The company has been buying Green Palm certificates to cover 100 percent of the volume of palm oil derived ingredients used in the formulation of its products. These certificates aim to ensure support for sustainable palm oil production until supply chains become available.

Last February, Naturex launched its new organic cranberry powder Pacran® for urinary tract health.
