FORSYTH, Mo.National Enzyme Co. (NEC) added a proficient, high-capacity blending machine to its manufacturing operations. The recent upgrade increases internal and external efficiencies by improving overall production pace and increasing blending capacity, in addition to a reduction in turn-around times.

As a continuation of National Enzymes plan to increase productivity, the new blender expands NECs capabilities. With our continued growth and expansion it was imperative that we increase our blending capacity. The addition of this blender will also allow our customers to take advantage of larger lot/batch sizes reducing the cost of testing, said Harold Fox, director of sales, NEC.

As a result of this new addition, increased productivity can be felt throughout the entire manufacturing process. Making one large batch instead of three eliminates two lab tests. Since lab testing can be expensive, this is an incredible improvement, said Kevin Hampton, director of manufacturing, NEC. Larger lots also help in encapsulation and packaging. Reducing lot changes eliminates a large portion of material change-over and clean-up time, remarked Hampton.
