LOS ANGELESGilad&Gilad's nerve pain supplement Neurofencine rebranded as AgmaSet® because the company said it is more distinctive, shorter and easier to pronounce name. According to the company's CEO, Gad M. Gilad, Ph.D.,  AgmaSet also associates with the name of the neuroprotective ingredient G-agmatine® (Gilad&Gilad's exclusive brand of agmatine).

AgmaSet is also marketed for veterinary use and for companion animals under the brand name AgmaVet.

G-agmatine,  a naturally occurring metabolite of the amino acid arginine, is present in small amounts in plant, fish and meat. In high amounts, the company says it targets multiple molecular mechanisms critical for healthy nerve functions including: neurotransmitters, potassium and calcium ion channels, molecule membrane transporters, nitric oxide (NO) production, polyamine metabolism and extracellular proteins.

AgmaSet® is sold direct to consumers online, to practicing health care professionals, to pharmacies, health stores and to distributors. Last year, the product became available in Singapore.
