CHICAGONewly Weds Foods, Inc., announced it has chosen Erlanger, Ky., as the site of its new 325,000-square-foot manufacturing plant. The facility will employ more than 100 workers and provide needed resources and capacity to better address current needs, as well as projected future activity.

Improvements to the existing structure will begin in April, and production is expected to begin in November 2013. Production lines will include sheeted breaders, Japanese-style bread crumb and American-style bread crumb, as well as blending capabilities for food-coating systems. The facility also will house a complete research and development lab.

This new plant represents Newly Weds Foods' 13th facility in the United States and 26th in total. It also reflects the continued growth of the company and an on-going demand for products that help our customer add value to theirs, " said Charles T. Angell, president of Newly Weds Foods.

In October 2012, Newly Weds Foods acquired the industrial food coating business of Tukwila, Wash.-based Continental Mills, Inc., for an undisclosed sum. The transaction included a 55,000-square-foot manufacturing facility located in Pendleton, Ore., and other assets associated directly with this specific business.
