Samples Delivered to Customers' Doors
Sampling is a great way to get your product in the hands of potential customers who have never tried your supplement before. Offering samples at a local health food store is one good way, and so is giving small packets at consumer trade shows. But a new service allows companies to send supplement samples directly to consumers.
In return, companies can gain feedback and demographic information on the consumers who try their product. Or, they just may gain a loyal consumer.
Bulu Box is a vitamin and supplement nutrition sample box that provides four to five supplement and vitamin samples to members on a monthly basis. It is available across the United States. Bulu Box also offers a rewards program that allows members to earn points toward the purchase of a full-size product.
To earn points, members subscribe, review products and refer friends. The consumer feedback, including demographic information, a subscribers familiarity with a product or brand, and product comments is provided to the participating supplement and vitamin companies. So far, brands such as Cellucor, FSI Nutrition, Nightfood and ANS Performance have offered their products through Bulu Box.
Bulu Box members can try premium samples for a $10 monthly subscription fee or choose from three-month, six-month and 12-month gift subscriptions.
A press release from the company noted it is always on the search for new brands. "Bulu Box is the perfect outlet for companies looking to introduce their supplement or vitamin product into the health industry or seeking greater reach among consumers," it said.
If you're interested in having your products offered in this program, the company offers a online form to fill out here.
I think this is a great idea (and a good Christmas gift for me, if you're reading, Santa). I have a friend who is always showing off her recent nail polish or mascara that she gets from a similar program of cosmetic products (called Birchbox). She's become a regular customer of some of those products. And I know I've started buying supplements after sampling them first. This idea could work.
