SensoryEffects Acquires QIC Dairy, Non-Dairy Creamer Unit

ST. LOUISSensoryEffects today announced it has acquired the dairy and non-dairy creamer business of Quality Ingredients Corporation (QIC). Included in the acquisition are QICs Marshfield, Wis., manufacturing site, a Filtermat spray dryer, and other dry blending equipment, formulas, technology, trademarks and intellectual property. After divestment of its creamer business, QIC will now focus solely on its growing contract manufacturing business and specialty ingredients business.

Nicolais. The Filtermat dryer will give us the ability to tailor products that meet our customers increasing needs for high-performance ingredient solutions. The QIC emulsified powder business includes creamers, whipped toppings, vegetable shortenings and other specialty dairy and non-dairy products, which will be integrated into our SensoryEffects Powder Systems division."
Nicolais said with the acquisition, SensoryEffects now possess a broad range of spray-drying capabilities across four production sites in Defiance, Ohio; Bridgeton, Mo.; Reading, Pa. and now Marshfield, Wis.
