Sysco Acquires Lincoln Poultry Egg

HOUSTONSysco Corp. has acquired Lincoln Poultry & Egg Co., a leading broadline foodservice distributor based in Lincoln, Neb. The deal was effective July 12, 2010; Lincoln Poultrys management team and employees become Sysco employees.

"Lincoln Poultry's high-quality operation and deep customer relationships represent an excellent growth opportunity for Sysco," said Mike Green, Sysco's executive vice president, foodservice operations. "We look forward to welcoming Lincoln Poultry to Sysco and positioning this investment for further growth."

Lincoln Poultry & Egg Co. began operations as a fresh poultry and egg distribution business in 1957 and has grown into a diversified broadline foodservice distributor serving more than 800 customers located primarily throughout the central United States.

"We're very pleased to join the Sysco family," said Kim Brown, Lincoln Poultry's president. "We look forward to providing the same great service to our customers and showing them an even broader line of quality-assured foodservice products."

Sysco is a global leader in selling, marketing and distributing food products to restaurants, healthcare and educational facilities, lodging establishments and other customers who prepare meals away from home. Its family of products also includes equipment and supplies for the foodservice and hospitality industries. The company operates 186 distribution facilities serving approximately 400,000 customers.
