HANGZHOU, ChinaZhejiang ShanShan Tea Co. Ltd. and Martin Bauer Group announced a joint ventureShanShan Tea Extracts Co. Ltd., which will produce CO2 decaffeinated tea and tea extracts. Construction on the new facility, which will be located in the Hangzhou Economic and Technological Development Area (HEDA), will begin in June 2010 with commercial production expected toward the end of 2011.

This joint venture is the result of a long-term successful relationship between Zhejiang ShanShan Tea Co. and the Martin Bauer Group, said Liu Zhiming, general manager of the new joint venture. In brining together the strengths of both companies we can ensure that ShanShan Tea Extracts Co. Ltd., is at the leading edge of tea beverage developments in Asia while at the same time strengthening the position of the Martin Bauer Group as one of the leading suppliers of tea extracts and decaffeinated teas to global markets.
