LONG BEACH, Calif. BI Nutraceuticals, a global supplier of dietary supplement and functional food ingredients, received a SQF 2000 certificate from NSF International for its east coast facility in New York.

With the certificate, BI's food safety and quality management systems will comply with international and domestic food safety regulations.

SQF 2000 is a HACCP (hazard analysis critical control points) based food safety and quality management system. The certificate is a global food safety initiative to enhance food safety and customer protection. The Food Safety Modernization Act requires all suppliers handling raw material of dietary supplement must perform a hazard analysis and prepare a risk-based food safety plan.

BI Nutraceuticals also received a gluten free certification from NSF International last year for its facility in Long Beach, California.
