KENNESAW, Ga.—Deerland Enzymes received halal certification for its manufacturing facility from the Islamic Services of America.

To earn the certification, a facility must satisfy the stringent requirements for the manufacture of products that meet the strict Islamic guidelines dealing with hygiene, dietary regulation, raw material processing and ingredient packaging.

“Along with the Star-K kosher certification, this allows Deerland’s customers to ensure their products are acceptable to consumers with religious dietary restrictions," said Hope Hanley, Deerland Enzymes’ vice president of quality assurance and regulatory affairs.

In August, the company also announced it will add glass-bottling services to its enzyme-based supplement manufacturing capabilities.
