Lallemand Probiotics Gain Halal Certification

MONTREALLallemand has reported its major yeast and bacteria probiotic products have received the halal certification from the Islamic Food And Nutrition Council of America (IFANCA). Among the products earning halal status are the yeast probiotic Saccharomyces boulardii and the Probiocap® microencapsulated bacteria strains: Lactobacillus Rosell-52; Lactobacillus Rosell-11; Lactobacillus casei Rosell-215; and Bifidobacterium Rosell-175. The company noted these strains are well described, central components of the companys key probiotic supplements and available for direct sales or for inclusion into custom formulations.
