SOVIK, Norway—The Oceans Omega-3 ingredient line from Pharma Marine can now carry the Friend of the Sea seal of approval. Pharma Marine is already Friend of the Sea certified for the Calamarine® and CodMarine® line of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA)/docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) concentrates from sustainable seafood sources.

Oceans EPA/DHA concentrates derive from sustainable sardines and anchovies fisheries sourced by Friend of the Sea approved purse seine fleets targeting stocks in areas where overfishing is not occurring.

A reliable chain of custody is maintained throughout the supply chain from fisheries to manufacturing facility ensuring that mixing with non-certified raw materials will not occur. Labels provide clear data about origin, fishing method and fishing area.

Pharma Marine launched its Oceans Omega-3 ingredient line to combine an ecologically-focused sourcing strategy with advanced processing technology to deliver optimal omega-3 ingredients. The raw materials used in the Oceans line are certified EU human food grade and utilizes several species in order to minimize the burden on any single marine resource.
