WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. ConsumerLab.com released the results of its latest round of product testing, which focused on alpha-lipoic acid dietary supplements. According to the organization, two-thirds of products met label claims for alpha-lipoic acid and met other quality standards. Two brands missed the mark on label claims, and a third product failed the review for making health claims related to a disease. In its report, ConsumerLab compares the amounts of alpha-lipoic acid and other ingredients in the products and discusses differences in isomers in the offerings.

ConsumerLab includes the names of companies involved in the review in its general news release, but doesnt indicate which ones passed or failed testing, nor the levels of active ingredients in the products. However, the reports with complete findings are available for purchase from ConsumerLab. The report on alpha-lipoic acid products provides findings for 10 products randomly selected for testing, as well as listing five additional products that passed testing under ConsumerLab.coms Voluntary Certification Program, whereby companies can pay to have their products tested by ConsumerLab.
