BASF Settles Remaining Price-Fixing Claims

LUDWIGSHAFEN, Germany--BASF AG (www.basf.de)announced it reached agreements in principle to settle all remaining pendingclaims for damages from direct purchasers of vitamins associated with thevitamin price-fixing case in the United States. The company expects theseagreements and pending settlements for indirect customers to result in a chargeof approximately $100.8 million; the amount was included in third-quarterresults, which were released Nov. 14. According to the quarterly report,BASF--the world's largest chemical company--posted total sales of almost $7.7billion.
