Cargill Presents Functional Beverages at Healthy Beverage Expo 2013

MINNEAPOLISCargill will present functional beverage prototypes and finished products made with ingredients to help support joint health, provide balanced energy and promote wellness at the Healthy Beverage Expo 2013 June 7-9 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Today, American's are turning to great tasting functional beverages for health boosts. Functional beverage sales have grown as much as 267% since 2004, and are projected to grow 19% through 2014, according to a recent Mintel study.

The company's booth will showcase Hansen's Drink Stix made with the natural zero calorie sweetener, Truvia® stevia leaf extract and Joint Juice® sticks made with Regenasure® glucosamine which is the only vegetarian GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) glucosamine sourced and produced in the United States.

Attendees also will be able to sample Cargill's sparkling beverage prototype made with Xtend® sucromalt for balanced energy delivery without blood glucose highs and lows associated with traditional carbohydrate sweeteners. A lightly sweetened grapefruit water prototype made with Zerose® erythritol, a natural bulk sweetener with zero calories, zero grams of sugar and zero aftertaste, and Truvia stevia leaf extract, also will be available.
