WESTCHESTER, Ill.Ingredion, Inc., launched the NOVATION Endura series, advancing the ability of NOVATION® functional native starches to withstand harsh processing conditions.

The first of the series, NOVATION Endura 0100 starch, is a clean-label starch that maintains product texture despite high heat and high shear in processing conditions, such as UHT, HTST and homogenisation. The ingredient also ensures the product will remain shelf-stable through ambient, chilled and frozen shelf-life.

The starch supports label claims such as additive-free" and no artificial ingredients." The clean color and flavor profile are suitable for sensitive applications while adding structure and stability. Application examples include custards, puddings, dairy desserts, dressings, ready meals, sauces and UHT soups and gravies in aseptic packages.

Earlier this year, Ingredion was granted a U.S. patent for its clean-label starch technology. The patent was the second to be granted in a series of filings.
