ConsumerLab Tackles CoQ10 in New Report

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.ConsumerLab.com recently put coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) to the test, finding one dietary supplement only contained 3.8 percent of the advertised amount of the antioxidant. CoQ10, an increasing popular supplement benefiting the heart and brain, netted $529 million in United States sales in 2011.

According the independent website's review of CoQ10 supplements, a 100 mg dose ranges from 9 cents to multiple dollars. Consumerlab.com evaluated 49 products, with 24 of them passing the site's voluntary certification program.
