LEXENA, Kan.Corbion Purac launched Verdad® N16, a clean-label ingredient solution that offers food safety with consumer-friendly labeling. Part of the companys growing portfolio of fermentation-based ingredient solutions, Verdad N16 is specifically designed to control the growth of Listeria in cured meats up to 120 days.

Verdad N16 is minimally processed and can be used in products that claim "made with natural ingredients" or "no artificial preservatives." Labeled as "cultured corn sugar and vinegar", Verdad N16 is a natural ferment derived from carefully selected food cultures. The blend of cultured corn sugar and vinegar is ideal for use in ready-to-eat (RTE) meat and poultry products.

Verdad N16 is a label-friendly alternative for use at lower use levels than lactate/diacetate containing preservatives. It is also a potassium-based ingredient making it ideal for use in low-sodium formulations.
