BEER SHEVA, IsrealA natural flavor-enhancing ingredient from LycoRed, Sante, is derived from tomato concentrate. It enhances the flavor of finished food products and can reduce the amount of salt added to a product.

With umami and kokumi flavor characteristics, Sante can be applied to a wide variety of food systems, such as soups, sauces, baked products, snacks and protein-based formulations. The ingredient can be used to replace artificial flavors, monosodium glutamate (MSG) and yeast extracts, resulting in clean-label, natural products. At the same time, Sante can create cost-saving opportunities due to the reduction in traditional formulary ingredients, spices, artificial flavors or tomato paste.

Sante is available in liquid form or as a free-flowing powder. It is heat resistant, stable at almost all pH levels and is suitable for ambient, frozen, baked, cooked and fried products. Sante can be mixed directly into dough or food mixes, applied as a seasoning, dusted on or even applied with a brush.

LycoRed Sante is designed to successfully enhance flavor, replace artificial flavor components and, in some cases, reduce costs in products as diverse as chili con carne, fruit juices and even ice cream, allowing a clean label designation," explains Dr. Sam Bernhardt, director of new food ingredients of LycoRed.
