KEARNY, N.J.Proprietary Nutritionals Inc. (PNI) announced its Cran-Max® proprietary cranberry concentrate now provides a minimum of 7.2 percent proanthocyanidins (PAC) content per 500 mg. Dean Mosca, president of PNI, a subsidiary of Pharmachem Laboratories, said the company determined the improved PAC content by measuring absorbency after total hydrolysis and extraction. He noted, This improvement is significant, because one 500mg capsule of Cran-Max will now provide 36 mg of PAC, meeting the French Food Safety Authority (AFSSA) function claim requirements for urinary tract health."

Cran-Max is a whole-berry concentrate produced using a proprietary process that utilizes all the vital parts of the cranberry including skin, seeds, pulp, juice and fiber. It is also formulated using the patented Bio-Shield® technology to protect the cranberry from destruction by gastric acid to deliver the compounds to the gastrointestinal tract for maximum effect.
