NEW YORK—Zylotrim LLC got a mixed review from the Electronic Retailing Self-Regulation Program (ERSP), which found the company had support for certain claims for its weight loss supplement, but recommended others be modified. ERSP examined claims in broadcast and online advertising for the Zylotrim Weight Loss Supplement. It concluded studies on the active ingredient—7-Keto DHEA—supported the claim that it could increase weight loss by 200 percent when used in conjunction with diet and exercise; ERSP also found the claim “clinically proven to help reduce body fat and weight” was substantiated. The organization recommended Zylotrim modify or discontinue claims about doubling the activity of fat-burning enzymes and that 80 percent of weight lost was pure fat.
