Institut Rosell-Lallemand to Present Probiotic Research

MONTREALInstitut Rosell-Lallemand is sponsoring a virtual conference on probiotics and prebiotics that will feature market trends, science and regulation. In a presentation, Institut Rosell-Lallemand will address the interactions between the gut-brain axis and microflora, and the development of its stress-targeting probiotic formula, ProbioStick®. In addition, some of its technical and market experts will take part in the virtual chat lounge.
Institut Rosell-Lallemands session, Microbiota, probiotics and brain-gut axis: How probiotics may influence our stress response?" is scheduled at 11 a.m. EST on March 29, 2011, will feature work performed at the French National Institute of Agricultural Research (INRA) on the probiotic strain Lactobacillus farciminis CIP 103136, as well as literature published by research teams from all around the world on other strains. Vasilia Theodorou, INRA/Ecole dIngénieur de Purpan, France, will expose how certain probiotic strains can have an effect on visceral pain, on the regulation of the intestinal barrier function and the brain response to stress.
To complete and illustrate this topic, Isabelle Champié , worldwide marketing director, Institut Rosell-Lallemand, will also deliver an example of finished product (ProbioStick®) that has been formulated and tested for its efficacy on preventing the disturbing symptoms of the stress response. The one-hour interactive session will include a live Q&A session.
