LaneLabs, Lonza Sign Agreement on PepZin GI

LAS VEGAS--LaneLabs USA in Allendale, N.J., andLonza Group in Fair Lawn, N.J., signed an exclusive distribution agreement lastweek during SupplySide West here. The agreement gives LaneLabs exclusivity tomarket the new ingredient PepZin GI in the consumer direct and retailchannels in the United States.

"Lonza is very enthusiastic about the potential of PepZinGI, especially in the hands of LaneLabs," said Dan Murray, associatedirector of technical development for Lonza (www.lonzagroup.com)."Lane has a strong track record of successful marketing, retailing anddistribution of supplement products."

According to representatives from LaneLabs, the company was soldon the ingredient from the clinical data on PepZin GI, a patented form of zinc-carnosinemanufactured by Hamari in Osaka, Japan. "PepZin GI is a remarkable naturalalternative to current digestive aids," said Andy Lane, president ofLaneLabs (www.lanelabs.com). "Itenhances the normal function of the digestive system for more permanentrelief." LaneLabs plans to introduce a retail product with the ingredientat Natural Products Expo West in March.
