Available in milk and dark chocolate, ProBenefit helps the body maintain a healthy balance of good" bacteria, while promoting optimal intestinal function and good health. To ensure the survival of the probiotics throughout digestion, Barry Callebaut uses a special production system that ensures a homogenous blend of probiotics in chocolate within a restricted temperature range.

"Barry Callebaut developed ProBenefit specifically to help its food manufacturing customers meet consumer demand for healthy and functional foods," said Rich Benson, director of research and development for Barry Callebaut North America.

ProBenefit chocolate is Kosher-certified and offers the same taste and texture of non-probiotic chocolate. The product may work in a range of food manufacturing applications and can be delivered to consumers in a liquid or solid format. It does not have to be refrigerated and has a shelf life of up to 1 year.
