ELMSFORD, N.Y.—Danisco (www.Danisco.com) developed a range of snack bar prototypes with specific health benefits for families. The School’s Out Snack Bar helps young children maintain alertness and stamina and contains fruit, cereal and nuts; The Amazon Snack Bar contains fruit and cereal with white chocolate and supplies an energy boost for busy women; The Hercules Snack Bar for men contains 12 vitamins and minerals, plus saw palmetto berry extract for sustained energy; and the Focus Snack Bar for concentration is a chocolate nougat topping on a layer of fruit, nuts and cereals. All four bars contain Danisco’s Litesse® polydextrose soluble fiber and prebiotic for digestive health.

In other company news, Danisco announced it broke ground on a new 19,200-square-foot ultra-cold storage facility and packaging center for frozen dairy cultures. “This new addition will remove existing bottlenecks and significantly expand our culture capacity at the Madison facility, allowing us to meet the demands of the dairy industry for starter cultures and the rapid growth in probiotics,” said Rod Dahlen, plant manager, Danisco.
