New Managing Director of Epax Norway AS

Pelagia, the parent company of Epax Norway AS, is pleased to announce that Bjørn Refsum is entering the position of Managing Director of Epax Norway AS as of January 1, 2018.

Bjørn Refsum, who is a Norwegian citizen, has through almost 20 years in the Omega-3 business gained excellent experience from both the Epax® Omega-3 business and as a consultant to the Peruvian fishing company Copeinca. He holds a master degree in Chemical Engineering, and has broad experience from the Pharmaceutical industry. Bjørn Refsum joins Epax from Nordic Pharma Inc., a subsidiary of US based Nordic Naturals, where he held the position as Managing Director.

Epax is a leading global brand of concentrated marine-based Omega-3 fatty acids for dietary supplement and pharmaceutical preparations. The Epax Omega-3 product line complement Pelagia’s existing product offerings and add to the strategy of increasing the portfolio of value added products.

Part of Pelagia’s strategy is to create exciting synergies between the resources in Epax and the core strength of Pelagia. It is expected that parts of Pelagia’s fantastic North Atlantic fish oil product offerings can be further refined and gain direct Human consumption market access through future and existing processes developed by Epax. Bjørn Refsum share this vision and the team at Pelagia and Epax look forward to his comeback in 2018.
