Algae May Reverse Sun Damage
CHICAGO--According to the June 25 issue of the Chicago Tribune, German scientists found that ocean algae may reverse the effects of sun damage. It was found thatphotolyase, an enzyme found in algae, may reduce redness and DNA damage associated with sunburns. Further research needs to be conducted to learn whether photolyase isbeneficial for all sunburns and whether it can reduce the risk of skin cancer. For more information, visitwww.chicagotribune.com.
