American Media Reshuffles Natural Health

NEW YORK--American Media Inc. announced an overhaul of NaturalHealth magazine, which it acquired earlier this year with several otherpublications from Weider Publications Inc. for approximately $350 million.Editorial operations were moved to Woodland Hills, Calif., and the 15 members ofthe editorial staff--including editor-in-chief Rachel Stripe--were let go.Advertising sales were moved to New York, and nine sales reps were also let go.

Barbara Harris, formerly the editor-in-chief of Shape magazine, willoversee Natural Health as executive vice president and editorialdirector. Roger Black, chairman of Danilo Black Inc., was contracted to redesignthe magazine; his previous reworks include Budget Living, Newsweek and RollingStone.
