Caravan Ingredients Raises $50,000 for March of Dimes

LENEXA, Kan.For the fourth year, Caravan Ingredients took part in the March of Dimes March for Babies, raising more than $50,000 in support of the organizations effort to prevent birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. This amount was triple the amount raised the previous year.
Bret Woodson, Vice President Human Resources at Caravan Ingredients said: It is only through the commitment and passion of our employees that we were able to substantially exceed our goals for this years event. The purpose of our company is to improve the quality and sustainability of life. It is this purpose that helps drive the partnership and connection with the March of Dimes' mission."
According to the company, the March of Dimes is particularly important to Caravan Ingredients because together they share one large commonality: folic acid. A large part of the March of Dimes mission is to promote the health benefits of including folic acid in a healthy diet. Folic acid plays a major role in reducing the life-long effects of neural tube defects such as spina-bifida in premature babies. Caravan Ingredients is a supplier of folic acid to the grain industry.
