Caravan Ingredients Raises $75,000 for March of Dimes

LENEXA, Kan.For the fifth year, Caravan Ingredients took part in the March of Dimes March for Babies, raising more than $75,000 in support of the organizations effort to prevent birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. Caravan Ingredients matched their employees fundraising efforts dollar for dollar.

According to the company, March of Dimes is particularly important to Caravan Ingredients because together they share one large commonality: folic acid. A large part of the March of Dimes mission is to promote the health benefits of including folic acid in a healthy diet. Folic acid plays a major role in reducing the life-long effects of neural tube defects such as spina-bifida in premature babies. Caravan Ingredients is a leading supplier of folic acid to the grain industry.
