Physiological Effects of Bifidobacterium Longum BB536 and Its Application in Food Products and Dietary Supplements
COMMACK, N.Y.--Bifidobacterium longum BB536 has been developed as a probiotic strain for various applications. According to CBC (America) Corp., it shows excellent stability and physiological benefits, including intestinal conditioning, improved immune function and reduced risk of some cancers. Norio Ishibashi, Ph.D., research group leader for the microbiological research division, Nutritional Science Laboratory, Morinaga Milk Industry Co., will address the use of BB536 in dairy products and supplement formulations.
