Cinnamon May Prevent Mold

A study published in the Aug. 12 issue of The Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry found that wax paper made with 6 percent cinnamon oil prolonged freshness for 10 days and inhibited mold-growth by 96 percent in already-tainted bread. Cinnamon-infused wrappers may also be effective in keeping fruits, vegetables and meats fresh.
